she's a real beaut.

What is it with the Garden State? Must be something in the soil. Or maybe it's the water in the Hudson River. Either way you slice it, most of my friends in NJ are either trying to procreate or are doing just that.

This past Saturday, April 9th, my friends Talie and Scott welcomed little Isabella Hudson Smith into this flawed, devastating, sweet, poetic, too-heavily-laden-with-adjectives world. She's really a beautiful little child and it's quite a trip to read what Scott's reflecting on as a new father. It reminds me of how I felt just a few short months ago, and how my feelings are constantly evolving and growing as my own son grows. It's like living vicariously through someone living vicariously through me.

This kind of sweet news is universes apart from the blather about the tragic sagas of the political hijacking of the legacy of Terri Schiavo and the slaughter of innocents in Iraq and Sudan. And, rest his soul, I'm tired of hearing about the Pope. He's gone. Elect someone else and move the heck on. But I digress...

I hate to say it, but you're absolutely right. She is the most beautiful child. Oh, you didn't say MOST? Hmm. Great pic of your little one. Bella says thanks for the shout-out.
